Weekend Transformation - May 2006
It was to be over a Bank Holiday. The old shop would close at 12.30pm on Sunday, which gave us until Tuesday morning to get up and running again - redecorated, re-floored with new shelving and functioning again.
As you can see in the photographs, dozens of villagers turned up in their old clothes and beavered away at cleaning and repainting the place, carpet tiles were laid and even though we were far from finished, the shop fitters, true to their word, came on the Monday and fitted us up with some really, to us, almost new shelving.
By late Monday evening we were done and early Tuesday morning some fresh stock was brought in and we opened for business, and Bathford Community shop had become a reality.
